5. Just for today be kind
What is Reiki?
Every body is different, but most people leave a Reiki session feeling lighter, more grounded, and deeply relaxed. You may notice shifts in your energy, emotions, or even physical sensations in the hours or days that follow. Sometimes, it feels like clarity; other times, a release of tension or stored emotion. Your body is recalibrating—and that’s part of the healing.

How much does a typical Reiki session cost?
At Be Rooted Healing Arts, sessions are offered on a sliding scale to honor different financial circumstances and make healing more accessible. You can choose the price point that works for you, and you’ll never be asked to explain your choice. Current pricing is listed on the booking page, and if you’re unsure where to start, we can chat during your free initial call.
How long does a Reiki session last?
Individual Reiki sessions are typically 75 minutes, allowing time for grounding in, sharing intentions, the energy session itself, and gentle integration afterward. Some community offerings and circles may be shorter or longer depending on the format.
Can I do Reiki on myself?
Yes. Reiki is not just something you receive—it’s something you can learn and practice. Tekla teaches Reiki as a daily personal care ritual that helps reconnect you to your body, breath, and inner truth. FAQs
-
Tears are a powerful sign of release. Reiki can bring stored emotion to the surface—gently and safely. Whether it’s grief, relief, joy, or something you can’t quite name, crying is your nervous system's way of letting go. At Be Rooted, you never have to apologize for your feelings. They’re welcome here.
-
Give yourself space. If possible, avoid overstimulation—loud environments, intense conversations, or diving right back into work. Drink water, take a walk, journal, or rest. The integration is just as important as the session itself.
-
Feeling warmth (or even tingling or pulsing) during Reiki is common—it’s often how your body experiences energetic movement. It may be your nervous system responding, stuck energy shifting, or your body simply receiving what it needs. Trust that your body knows how to interpret the healing.
-
That depends on your intentions. Some people come weekly for support during transitions or times of stress, while others come monthly for maintenance. Tekla also offers structured programs like Ready to Root for deeper, ongoing support. We’ll find a rhythm that works for you.
-
Many clients report feeling calmer, clearer, and more present after Reiki. While Reiki is not a substitute for therapy or medical care, it can be a powerful complementary tool to help regulate your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and move through stress with more ease.
-
Absolutely. In fact, many people drift into a deeply relaxed state that feels like sleep, meditation, or a dreamlike rest. Your body takes what it needs—whether that’s stillness, rest, or deep energetic movement.
-
Sessions begin and end with space for sharing, but during the energy portion, most people settle into quiet. Tekla will occasional mention things that come up but will mostly reserve sharing for after your session before pulling a card for an oracle deck.
