Revolutionary Love Practice Group

Based on the book
See No Stranger by Valarie Kaur

The Revolutionary Love Practice Group is an ongoing circle inspired by the Revolutionary Love Compass, created by activist, lawyer, and filmmaker Valarie Kaur and shared in her powerful book See No Stranger. This framework invites us to engage with the world—and ourselves—through the practices of wonder, grief, and fight, rooted in love as a force for personal and collective transformation.

Each gathering will focus on a specific aspect of the Revolutionary Love Compass, weaving together discussion, reflective prompts, embodiment practices, and guided meditation.

You’ll be invited to:

✓ Learn how the Compass applies to your daily life and the broader world.

✓ Practice skills for grounding, listening, and speaking from your truest self.

✓ Connect in honest, heart-centered conversation with a diverse and committed community.

✓ Transform how you engage with yourself, others, and the challenges of our times.

About Valarie Kaur & See No Stranger

Valarie Kaur is a civil-rights activist, award-winning filmmaker, lawyer, educator, and the visionary behind the Revolutionary Love Project—a movement reclaiming love as a force for justice, healing, and collective transformation. Her memoir and manifesto, See No Stranger: A Memoir and Manifesto of Revolutionary Love, has become a modern moral compass—illuminating how loving others, even opponents, and ourselves is the path toward healing a fractured world.

The book lays out the Revolutionary Love Compass, a cycle of ten inward and outward practices—like Wonder, Grieve, Fight, Listen, Reimagine, Breathe, Push, and Transition—that form the foundation for lifelong, love-guided action.

Valarie’s story—and the many ways she has lived its lessons—reminds us that laboring in love is revolutionary. Her voice continues to inspire countless people to choose hope, connection, and belonging in times of fear and fragmentation..

You are a part of me I do not yet know.
— Valarie Kaur

For the past five years, Tekla has been studying and integrating the Revolutionary Love Compass into her personal healing and community spaces. She has led study groups and has attended a weekend retreat with Valarie Kaur, diving into the Revolutionary Love Compass. Now, she is honored to co-host this monthly practice group with her friend and fellow facilitator, Holly Leon-Lierman. Holly and Tekla love to talk about the compass, and feel a deep desire and need to host a practice group. Holly has been to live events with Valarie Kaur as well, and loves the work of the compass. Together, they offer a supportive space to explore these principles—not just as ideas, but as tools for living courageously, compassionately, and in deep alignment with our values.
