The Benefits of Reiki
Reiki is a gentle yet powerful spiritual practice that supports you in returning to your truest self—releasing what no longer serves and reconnecting with your inner clarity and energy. It also has profound physical effects when practiced regularly.
Whether subtle or profound, Reiki sessions often bring the following benefits:
A feeling of lightness, especially in the heart space
A release of heaviness, tension, and other people’s energy
Clearer focus and emotional spaciousness
A deep sense of grounding and calm
Relief from a variety of physical ailments, like headaches, tension, or physical discomfort
Gentle support through grief, life transitions, and loss
Clarity on what you truly want—not what the world tells you
A deeper connection to your intuition, spirit, and inner truth
What to expect during an in-person Reiki session
-

Grounding Conversation (15 minutes)
We’ll begin with a relaxed check-in to talk about what’s showing up for you—emotionally, physically, and energetically.
-

Reiki Session (45–60 minutes)
You’ll lie fully clothed on a cozy massage table under a blanket. I’ll guide you through a grounding meditation with music and sound to help you settle. I use a gentle flat-handed touch (or no touch if you prefer) as I offer Reiki. You may rest, drift into a dream state, or even fall asleep.
-

Reflection + Integration (10 minutes)
After your session, we’ll discuss what came up, share insights, and pull a card from an oracle deck to support your integration.
What to expect during a distance Reiki session
Distance Reiki allows you to receive deep healing from the comfort of your home—ideal for travel, busy schedules, or when in-person isn’t accessible.
We begin by you calling me, and we check-in. Earbuds or headphones are helpful.
You’ll rest in a quiet, cozy space—your bed, couch, or anywhere you can relax.
I’ll guide you in meditation and offer Reiki, with quiet moments and shared intuitive reflections as they come, or I will stay quiet and take notes during the Reiki session.
You may fall asleep or enter a peaceful dream state.
I’ll gently bring you back at the end of the session, share insights, and read a card drawn just for you.
You don’t need to be in the same room to experience the full benefits of Reiki. Many clients are surprised by how relaxed and grounded they feel afterward—no matter where they are in the world.
FAQs
-
Tears are a powerful sign of release, and they are just salt water! Reiki can bring stored emotion to the surface—gently and safely. Whether it’s grief, relief, joy, or something you can’t quite name, crying is your nervous system's way of letting go. At Be Rooted, you never have to apologize for your feelings- let them flow!
-
Give yourself space. If possible, avoid overstimulation—loud environments, intense conversations, or diving right back into work. Drink water, take a walk, journal, or rest. The integration is just as important as the session itself.
-
Feeling warmth (or even tingling or pulsing) during Reiki is common—it’s often how your body experiences energetic movement. It may be your nervous system responding, stuck energy shifting, or your body simply receiving what it needs. Trust that your body knows how to interpret the healing. Some people even feel coolness rather than heat- ride the waves of change, you are held and supported.
-
That depends on your intentions. Some people come weekly for support during transitions or times of stress, while others come monthly for maintenance. Tekla also offers structured programs like Ready to Root for deeper, ongoing support. We’ll find a rhythm that works for you. Ultimately, learning Reiki and practicing self-Reiki daily is fabulous, and a monthly Reiki session is recommended for all!
-
Many clients report feeling calmer, clearer, and more present after Reiki. While Reiki is not a substitute for therapy or medical care, it can be a powerful complementary tool to help regulate your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and move through moments that might bring up anxiety with more ease. Learning self-Reiki is a huge support for anxiety as well.
-
Absolutely. In fact, many people drift into a deeply relaxed state that feels like sleep, meditation, or a dreamlike rest. Your body takes what it needs—whether that’s stillness, rest, or deep energetic movement.
-
Sessions begin and end with space for sharing, but during the energy portion, most people settle into quiet. Tekla will occasional mention things that come up but will mostly reserve sharing for after your session before pulling a card for an oracle deck. You are always welcome to talk during your session if something comes up that you want to share!
